Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 was surely one of the most anticipated smartphones in the past few months, and the company is expected to exceed sales marks of previous Note handsets. The high number of registrations for the Note 7 showed how attractive this smartphone is on the market, but it seems that Samsung has been having some issues with shipments.

Reuters has announced today that Samsung released a statement saying that “shipments of the Galaxy Note 7 are being delayed due to additional tests being conducted for product quality.” While the report doesn't specifically mention the type of tests, there have been numerous reports lately of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 units exploding during charging.

Reports came primarily from South Korea, but some units from the US were also affected as they started catching fire while being charged with the original Samsung charger. The statement leaves out details on which countries will be impacted by this delay, but it's known that Samsung has been having some supply issues as well, due to a high number of registrations for the Galaxy Note 7.

Users have also been experiencing crashes and bootloops on the Note 7

The Galaxy Note 7 might also be affected by another worrying issue, as it seems that some users have complained about bootloops, crashes, and even complete bricking of the unit, without any apparent reason.

Samsung might have taken note of these reported problems, and it may have imposed additional quality control tests on its Note 7 units, especially since battery issues could potentially cause direct physical harm to users.

It remains to be seen how Samsung will address these user complaints and when shipments will restart, considering that such a measure clearly affects the company's sales right ahead of IFA and other smartphone releases by competitors on the market. Either way, the company is expected to make an official announcement on the matter soon.
