Here is some bad news for Samsung fans, as two of the mid-range smartphones that the South Korean company planned to launch this month will be delayed until next year.

According to a new report, the C5 Pro and C7 Pro smartphones have been delayed into January 2017. The source of the information doesn't cite any reasons for the delay, but Samsung has been very busy lately with the Galaxy Note 7 recall.

In any case, Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro and C7 Pro are expected to make their debut in China in January, 2017, but we're not sure whether or not the phone will be made available in other countries.

However, we do know quite a lot about the phones' specs, so we can confirm they are mid-range smartphones with a few high-end specs that might go unnoticed by some Android fans.

But let's start with the fact that both phones have been confirmed to ship with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box. Even so, we won't be surprised if Samsung uses the time until their release to put Android 7.0 Nougat instead.

Similar hardware configurations, different displays

Hardware-wise, Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro is the cheaper model, as the smartphone comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD card).

Also, the C5 Pro sports a 5.2-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. There's also a 16-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which is complemented by a no less impressive 16-megapixel selfie camera in the front.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro packs the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor inside, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

Furthermore, the C7 Pro comes with the same 16-megapixel rear-facing and 16-megapixel selfie camera combo. However, this one boasts a larger 5.7-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Both handsets are supposed to pack USB Type-C ports, Samsung Pay service, and the new Grace UX that's been released along with the Galaxy Note 7 phablet.
