Pause USB Power Delivery making its way to more devices

Galaxy S23 is currently Samsung’s latest and greatest mobile device, so it makes sense for the new model to come with lots of innovations.

But just like it happened before, the new Galaxy S model is just the pioneer of these ideas, as many of the features that debuted on the new-generation devices eventually make their way to other Samsung phones as well.

This seems to be the case with the Pause USB Power Delivery feature.

If you missed the Unpacked event that took place on February 1, you probably don’t know that the Galaxy S23, especially the Ultra, has been developed with gaming in mind. In fact, this has long been a main focus for Samsung, so the Galaxy S23 series embracing the same approach isn’t necessarily surprising.

To improve the performance while playing games, Samsung has come up with a feature called Pause USB Power Deliver, which essentially allows you to keep the phone connected to a charger, and benefit from the extra boost of power, all without charging the battery.

I know it sounds complicated, but it’s not. Samsung developed this feature to allow the charge to directly send the power to the processor and not to the battery. The benefit is obvious: the performance of the device gets a boost, while the battery stays cold and you can enjoy gaming for as long as you want.

According to a report from SamMobile, Samsung is now bringing this feature to other devices as well, including the Galaxy A73 5G, so it won’t be a feature exclusive to high-end models. The foldable devices are being provided with the same update as well, but for now, Samsung has remained completely tight-lipped regarding its plans for this feature across its device lineup.
