There was a time when Samsung was painfully slow whenever it came to software updates shipped to its devices, but as it turns out, those days are long gone now.

And it’s all because the South Koreans are making big efforts to bring the latest Android updates to some phones, including flagships, as soon as possible, and the upcoming debut of Android 12 is the living proof in this regard.

According to a recent report, Samsung is already giving the finishing touches to its Android 12 beta program, which should start next month with the first devices. Then, if everything goes according to the plan, the first Samsung devices to get Android 12 could be updated with the new operating system in November, and right now, it’s believed the Galaxy S21 is the chosen one in this regard.

Of course, Samsung wouldn’t ship the stock Android 12 experience but a new One UI update that could bring its custom operating system to version 4.0. And just as expected, One UI 4.0 could come with lots of improvements, including a polished look that would make its devices overall feel more modern.

No confirmed roadmap just yet

On the other hand, there’s no doubt the Android 12 rollout would accelerate on Samsung devices at some point in early 2022, as later this year, only the first waves of phones would be updated with the new operating system.

Most recently, however, Samsung has started to prepare its apps for Android 12, optimizing them for the new operating system using updates published in its store.

Needless to say, the company has remained completely tight-lipped on everything related to the One UI roadmap, but more information in this regard should be shared in the coming months as part of an update published in the Samsung Members app where the company typically discloses the entire schedule.
