Sam Smith is officially a record-breaking recording artist, having received recognition from the Guinness World Records for 2 of his recent, very impressive achievements. One of them has to do with his song for the “SPECTRE” soundtrack, aka the latest official James Bond song, “Writing’s on the Wall.”

That would be the same James Bond song that many people trashed on social media for being a shameless ripoff of Michael Jackson’s “Earth Song” at the end of last month, if you recall. Those who did not hate the song for this reason, hated it because it was “bland” and too dramatic for an action movie like “SPECTRE.”

Even though the song’s release was steeped in controversy, it still managed to shoot straight to number 1 in the UK charts, marking this the first time a James Bond song achieves that in the history of the franchise. How’s that for shutting haters up?

As if that weren’t enough reason to be incredibly proud of himself, Smith was also presented with another Guinness World Record, after his album “In the Lonely Hour” set the record for Most Consecutive Weeks in the UK Top 10 Album Charts: 69 weeks.

Here’s a video from the Guinness World Records, with Sam Smith looking terribly giggly and overwhelmed with joy, but humble at the same time.
