S Pen stylus could come with added functionality

Samsung has just informed us that the Galaxy Note 7 will be coming on August 2, as the unveiling is set to take place during the Unpacked 2016 event in New York. There were rumors saying that the S Pen on the Note 7 would come with more features, and now it seems that a Samsung executive has confirmed the information.

The head of Samsung Mobile, Koh Dong-jin, has announced that the company has made some changed to the S Pen on the Note 7, according to Korea Herald. The statement reads, "We have improved 'note' functions this time, upgrading software for user convenience."

This means that a new Note UX interface is currently being tested in Korea. The goal is to bring all stylus applications, including Action Memo and S Note, into one app called Notes. Aside from this, the official has added that the company might struggle in the third quarter because the market has reached the saturation point.

The S Pen stylus will have new features and functions

The S Pen stylus will come with new functions, and word is that a new dictionary and text-to-speech features will be included.

Nevertheless, sales of the Note 7 should translate into a pretty penny for the South Korean company, considering that the smartphone is rumored to cost up to 849 in Europe.

Galaxy Note 7 is expected to come on August 2 and have a 5.7-inch dual edge Super AMOLED display with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and Snapdragon 821 SoC or Exynos 8893 SoC, depending on the region.

It will also come with 6GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB of internal memory. The smartphone will draw power from a 3,600mAh battery, and it's expected to come with USB Type-C port and an iris scanner. In addition, it will run Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and have a new version of TouchWiz, Grace UX.
