The man says that he became addicted to the game

Bethesda is being sued by a Russian man after Fallout 4 ruined his life by making him addicted, allegedly.

You can consider a game good when someone with children and a job says that Fallout 4 ruined his life by being too interesting. If only Bethesda made the game a little bit more boring, then he might have gone through such an ordeal.

According to a report on Russia Today, a gamer from Siberia, of all places, is suing Bethesda and a local localization company (the ones who did the translation) because Fallout 4 turned out to be so addictive that it made his life miserable. He’s a 28-year-old from the city of Krasnoyarsk, and it looks like he wasn’t prepared for such a game, and Bethesda didn’t warn him that it might negatively affect his life.

This can’t be serious

The funny thing is that he’s asking for 500,000 roubles ($7,000) which is an extremely small amount. Let’s suppose for a moment that Bethesda and Fallout are to blame, why isn’t he asking for more? Losing his job and wife, in this order, should pay more. The truth is that probably these problems were preexistent, and he would have lost them anyway.

“His lawsuit is seen as something of a test case in Russia, as there has never been such a precedent. The law firm representing the 28-year-old say they want to see how far we can go regarding this case,” reads the report on Russia Today.

There were some serious issues in the past with World of Warcraft, which caused the death of a few people who played too much, didn’t sleep, and eventually collapsed of exhaustion. That could be a powerful case, but he’s just being irresponsible and wants to pass the blame on someone else. Making money in the process is just a bonus.
