The smartphone could still come with a single lens camera

New information coming through Chinese channels indicate Samsung might have dropped plans to include a dual-camera setup on its upcoming Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone.

Although Samsung's officials announced the Galaxy S8 would pack an improved camera, they did not make any reference to dual-camera or single camera setups.

However, previous rumors claimed Samsung would embrace the trend of putting two cameras on the back of its flagship and the Galaxy S8 would provide this feature out of the box.

Unfortunately, a new rumor now states that Samsung's plans to include a dual-lens setup on the Galaxy S8 fell through for whatever reason. The good news is that doesn't necessarily mean at least one Galaxy S8 variant won't come with dual-cameras on the back side.

Dual-camera could still make it into one Galaxy S8 variant

As some of you might already know, Samsung plans to launch at least two Galaxy S8 models, and one of them could include a single camera setup, while the other one will come with dual-lens on the back.

Either way, it's a bit strange that Samsung has decided not to go for a feature that has already become standard for high-end smartphones.

Sadly, there are so many rumors running around claiming that the Galaxy S8 will boast a larger display or a dual-camera setup, and then there are some contradictory rumors that say the opposite, so after a while it is very hard to believe any of them, at least for the time being.

While Samsung still has time to change its plans for the Galaxy S8, it will eventually reach a point where it must decide what exactly the phone will look like and what it will put under the hood.

We're only three months away from the official reveal of the Galaxy S8 and we're still getting contradictory information about Samsung's flagship, so we strongly recommend our readers to take all these rumors with a tint of salt.
