14 DAY TRIAL // Paper Cut Mansion is the new IP coming from indie developer Space Lizard Studios and publisher Thunderful Games. Advertised as a roguelite horror game, what makes it really interesting is that each texture is hand-drawn on paper, then scanned into a computer, to be modeled into 3D paper crafts.
It makes Paper Cut Mansion a rather unique game and while gameplay should always be king when it comes to games, visuals can surprise too. Not to mention that the game also promises an intriguing cast of characters who offer quests that can earn helpful rewards.
In Paper Cut Mansion, players step into the shoes of Toby, a police detective arriving at the road leading to an old mansion. You’ll have to put your detective skills to the test to unravel the story behind this strange place, with each run giving you the change to collect another piece of evidence that will be placed on the Evidence Board.
“I’m really excited to give people a first look at this intricate paper world we’ve been crafting. We wanted to create something unique, but that draws inspiration from the classic 80s and 90s works of Tim Burton and Jim Henson. The team has worked really hard to create a mysterious and visually appealing world that’s going to draw players in, and provide them with a compelling roguelite loop that’s going to keep them coming back,” said Space Lizard Studios’ Gabriele Caruso.
Each run will offer players the opportunity to figure out their playstyle and unlock the suitable abilities, as well as discover new equipment that will give them a batter chance of overcoming the challenges each run throws at them.
Last but not least, Paper Cut Mansion offers a wide range of enemies, clues, quests, secrets, loot and exciting logic puzzles to keep players entertained for many hours. Paper Cut Mansion is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in 2022, but fans of the genre can already wishlist the game on Steam.
