The development team at Harmonix is announcing that it is setting the price of the coming Rock Band 4 on the Xbox One home console from Microsoft at 60 dollars or Euro in order to reflect the fact that gamers will be able to use their previously bought controllers using a special adapter.

At the same time, the PlayStation 4 version of the music sim will be sold for the classic 60 dollars or Euro price that is now traditional for new AAA titles.

Gamers will be able to pick up a special adapter that allows them to plug in and use the guitars and drum kits offered for the installments in the series that appeared on the Xbox 360.

The adapter will not be part of the core package and gamers will have to get it separately, although it will be offered at the same time as Rock Band 4 launches.

On the PlayStation 4, the instruments are compatible with the game without the need for an adapter.

Harmonix has also issued a full list that shows which peripherals that have been associated with the franchise over its history can be used for the coming installment, so fans will need to carefully consult it to make the best decisions when it comes to their upcoming purchase.

Rock Band 4 aims to offer a wider set of core features

The new title from Harmonix is designed to also allow players to import most of the tracks that they have bought for previous games to the new one, except for those where the company no longer owns the rights.

Rock Band 4 is also offering an expanded set of gameplay concepts, allowing players to execute freestyle solos on both guitars and drums, which gamers can use to express their personality and make each track unique.

For songs that have vocals, players will now have more freedom.

Rock Band 4 will arrive on October 6 on both platforms. The Harmonix title will have to compete with a new Guitar Hero Live, which is more focused on offering a wide variety of tracks for gamers to play with.
