Rise of the Tomb Raider is coming to Steam in about three weeks, and the game is now available for pre-purchase on the digital platform.

Rise of the Tomb Raider was announced as an Xbox One exclusive and released for that platform in November, just a couple of months ago. Games that have exclusivity usually take a longer time until they reach the PC platform if that happens at all, but Rise of the Tomb Raider made that period really short.

Information about Rise of the Tomb Raider sales has been sparse, but we were recently told that it sold over a million units, which is not all that bad. In any case, the game would have sold much better if it didn’t come out on the same day as Fallout 4, but that’s all in the past now. The not-so-great sales might have had something to do with the shortening of the exclusivity deal.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is now ready for preorder

Despite the low sales on Xbox One, Rise of the Tomb Raider is actually a great game and the community has been thrilled about it. It’s done by the same team that rebooted Tomb Raider in 2013, and that game was also exceptionally good.

“Featuring epic, high-octane action moments set in the most beautiful hostile environments on earth, Rise of the Tomb Raider delivers a cinematic survival action adventure where you will join Lara Croft on her first tomb raiding expedition as she seeks to discover the secret of immortality,” is noted in the Steam announcement.

If you preorder the game on Steam, you will receive the 2013 edition of Tomb Raider along with the Remnant Resistance Pack. There is also the Rise of the Tomb Raider - Digital Deluxe Edition, that incorporates the season pass as well.

The official launch date for Rise of the Tomb Raider is January 28.
