Carrion is a “reverse horror” game developed by Phobia Game Studio and published by Devolver Digital. The game was officially unveiled several months ago at E3 2019 and developers promised the game will be coming to PC next year.

Today, Phobia Game Studio and Devolver Digital have announced Carrion will come to Xbox One alongside PC when it launches later next year. Even though the game won't be out until 2020, it will be showcased at X019 in London between November 14-16, so attendees will be able to play a demo of it.

According to Devolver, Carrion immediately became one of its most anticipated games garnering many award nominations, and rightfully so. Carrion is a reverse horror game in which you assume the role of an amorphous creature of unknown origin.

The gameplay is quite simple and gory at the same time. You'll have to stalk and consume those that imprisoned you to spread fear and panic throughout the facility. As you consume more people, you'll grow and evolve, thus acquiring more and more devastating abilities on the path to retribution.

There's not much else known about Carrion, but the trailer speaks for itself, so if you're into roguelike platformers, you might want to wishlist the game on Steam. As far as Xbox One players go, just follow the news for an official release date, but you'll probably have to wait at least six more months for the game to become available.

Unfortunately, there's no telling whether or not Carrion will be coming to PlayStation 4 as well, and the fact that it's only been announced for PC and Xbox One makes us wonder if Microsoft and Devolver have reached an agreement to make the game available via the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. On the bright side, we'll know for sure this week, as Microsoft confirmed new titles will be announced for Xbox Game Pass during X019 in just a few days.
