Nightmare Reaper is a retro-inspired first-person shooter (FPS) with looter shooter and roguelite elements. Developed by Blazing Bit Games, the game is currently in Early Access and has two chapters that are 7-10 hours long and offer high replayability.

Today, developers announced their game will finally leave Early Access on March 28. More importantly, a third chapter will be added to the game at launch, which will include more weapons, new game modes, lots of loot, and more storyline. However, Chapter 3 will not be the last piece of new content coming to Nightmare Reaper, as developers announced more will be added in the future.

For what began as a solo project and is now a small team, we're incredibly humbled by the game's overwhelmingly positive rating on Steam and the community’s support throughout Early Access. We've worked hard for more than 5 years to make the full launch something that'll surprise even our biggest fans and we look forward to players experiencing everything Nightmare Reaper has to offer,” said Bruno Beaudoin, Blazing Bit Founder and Lead Developer.

Described as a dark and violent meld of retro and modern action games, inspired by the classic 2.5D first-person shooters of the 90s, Nightmare Reaper has players progress through the cursed depths of a nightmare while finding an arsenal of powerful weapons and improving their abilities along the way.

The game will end up having around 80 unique weapons at launch, which can drop as loot and can contain a mix of over 30 enchantment types. To improve their characters, players must use the gold they find to purchase upgrades and new abilities via retro minigames.

Another highlight of the game is the music by Andrew Hulshult from Doom Eternal, which will certainly add to the retro vibe (also, they’re DMCA free). Finally, Nightmare Reaper offers multiple modes including Campaign, Endless, New Game+, and Challenge.

Nightmare Reaper is currently available on Steam and GOG for $24.99 and will have a launch sale of 15% off from March 28 until April 4 on both platforms.
