The quality of the game does not rely 1080p

Plenty of gamers were unhappy when reports revealed that the coming Quantum Break would run at 720p on the Xbox One, saying that a title that had been in development for so long for the home console should offer a better resolution.

Now the development team at Remedy has issued an official statement on the matter after it made clear that it was not planning to use a day-one update for the game to improve the game engine in any way.

Inquisitr quotes the studio as explaining that Quantum Break features 1080p output, which is a temporal reconstruction from four previous 720p 4xMSAA frames and allows the game to deliver high pixel quality and a complex range of shading and effects that enhance the presentation and offer the cinematic look.

Remedy adds, "However, varying sample counts between passes and temporal upscaling makes talking about resolution, as it is traditionally understood, complicated in the case of Quantum Break. Since the start of Quantum Break’s development, the most important thing for Remedy and Microsoft has been delivering a compelling gaming experience with superior artistic quality. This is what Remedy is renowned for."

Phil Spender, the leader of the Xbox division, has also said that players should try out the game before they make any judgment about its graphics quality.

Quantum Break improves third-person shooter mechanics via time manipulation

Jack Joyce is present during an experiment focused on time travel and gains access to special powers, which allow him to create a shield to gain protection from projectiles or to fully freeze the action to attack enemies or to move past them.

Players will have to mix classic third-person driven cover shooter mechanics with their newfound powers in order to progress through levels and make choices that affect the world of the title.

Quantum Break will be out on both the Xbox One and on PCs that run Windows 10 on April 5 and will feature a mix of action and television style episodes that present the narrative from the perspective of the villain.

Gamers will have to be connected to the Internet to download or to stream them, and Remedy says that it's easy to skip these episodes, but they are designed to offer more context about the world and illuminate the choices they are making.

All those who have pre-ordered the title on the Xbox One will also get a free version for Windows 10.
