We can't be happier that one of the most beloved franchises of the past, Desperados is finally getting another major installment. Desperados III is launching today on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, and from what we've seen on the internet, it looks like Desperados III is one of the best rated real-time tactical games in years.

Developed by the folks at Mimimi Games, Desperados III will be getting a season pass with three additional missions later this year. In addition, the studio will release two free content updates in July and August, each featuring four new Baron's challenge bonus missions. Finally, there will be an update this summer that will add Mac and Linux support.

If you're not convinced by the dozens of positive reviews published in the last few days, you can always try the free demo, which gives you access to one level from the story-driven, hardcore tactical stealth game. The free demo can be downloaded via Steam and GOG, but Xbox One players can get it as well. A free demo for PlayStation 4 will be released as well, but there's no ETA yet.

As far as the price goes, Desperados III is a bit pricer than we expected. You'll find it listed on all digital stores at no less than €50 / $50 / £45 (PC) and €60 / $60 / £55 (consoles). In its defense, the game offers between 20 and 25 hours of gameplay, so you'll definitely get your money's worth.

In Desperados III, you'll be playing as five unique characters, each with a very particular set of skills. You'll have to play smart to succeed as you'll be outnumbered in just about every mission. Since this is a story-driven game, we won't spoil it for you, but we'll leave the launch trailer above that will tell you everything you need to know about Desperados III.
