GCC 6.2.1, GDB 7.12, and GNU binutils 2.27 are included

After entering the Beta stage of development three weeks ago, Red Hat's commercial Red Hat Software Collections 2.3 and Red Hat Developer Toolset 6 suites are now generally available and ready for deployment in production environments.

Prominent new features included in the Red Hat Software Collections 2.3 suite are the latest MySQL 5.7 and Redis 3.2 open-source databases, PHP 7.0 and Perl 5.24 dynamic open-source programming languages, along with the Git 2.9 open-source project management tool, Thermostat 1.6 Java virtual machine (JVM) monitoring utility, and Eclipse Neon 4.6.1 integrated development environment (IDE).

Red Hat Developer Toolset 6 adds GCC 6.2.1 and GDB 7.12

Apart from the awesome tools mentioned above, Red Hat Software Collections 2.3 includes many updated collections, among which we can mention PHP 5.6, Python 3.5, Ruby 2.3, and MongoDB 3.2. On the other hand, Red Hat Developer Toolset 6 brings lots of goodies for developers, including but not limited to GNU Compiler Collection (GCC) 6.2.1, GNU Project Debugger (GDB) 7.12, GNU binutils 2.27, elfutils 0.167, Valgrind 3.12, Dyninst 9.2.0, strace 4.12, and SystemTap 3.0.

Existing customers can enjoy all these new tools in their supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7 operating systems, as well as Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, right now by downloading the Red Hat Software Collections 2.3 and Red Hat Developer Toolset 6 suites from Red Hat's Customer Portal. The new software collections are also available with the no-cost Red Hat Enterprise Linux Developer subscription through the Red Hat Developer Program.
