Rockstar continues to update Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC and the last patch released by the studio includes a huge number of crash fixes. One of the most annoying problems for Red Dead Redemption 2 PC players was the random crashes after slightly longer gameplay sessions.

We experienced some of these crashes and noticed that there's nothing we can do besides lowering the game's visual settings. Today, Rockstar launched title update 1.14.1 on PC and Xbox One and from what we're seeing in the release notes this is all about bug fixes.

For starters, the update adds improvements to address an issue that resulted in a crash when launching the game after switching between Vulkan and DirectX12. The same goes for another issue that resulted in a crash when changing Windows audio devices/settings while the game was running.

More enhancements have been added to fix an issue that resulted in a crash when graphical settings were changed and applied while close to the VRAM limit, as well as an issue that resulted in a crash during loading screens when launching Story Mode or Red Dead Online.

And the changes don't stop here, as Rockstar states the update should fix major problems that resulted in a crash during gameplay when using keyboard and mouse controls or when transitioning between Story Mode and Red Dead Online.

PC players using Vulkan instead of DirectX 12 have been plagued by stuttering issues, but the update should address some issues that resulted in graphical errors and other instability when using Vulkan with multiple graphics cards.

On the other hand, Rockstar also fixed a bug that would result in a random crash during gameplay when using DirectX 12. There a handful of other bug fixes included in the update, so make sure to check the release notes if you want to view the full gist.
