14 DAY TRIAL // Razer unveiled a new 7.1 gaming headset called Kraken X which is exceptionally light and should come at an affordable price point.
We all know that performant gaming headsets usually come with a weigh cost. To get the best possible experience, headphone makers have to add lots of features, and sometimes that means more weight. In turn, more weight translates into a less comfortable experience.
Players know that no matter how a comfortable a headset is initially, it usually starts to take its toll in long gaming sessions. Having a lighter headset means that people will be able to wear it for extended periods.
Kraken X is an all-day headset
Kraken X aims to check two essential boxes, and those are comfort and price point. A 7.1 headset is not usually cheap, but Razer is making some significant changes and starting with 2019 all of their headsets are going to feature 7.1 surround system.
The Razer Kraken X weights just 250gr comes with soft memory ear cushions, channels for people with glasses, and an adjustable headband.
Razer also says that “true gaming audio is not complete without 7.1 surround sound. Even the affordable new Kraken X headset will feature 7.1 surround sound instead of stereo audio seen on competitive budget-friendly gaming headsets. Delivering a true competitive advantage, the 7.1 surround sound software provides accurate positional audio in the middle of battle.”
It's important to know that the 7.1 surround sound is only available for people with a Windows 10 64-bit. Of course, Kraken X also features a bendable cardioid microphone. It’s designed to work on pretty much any platform, including PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and phones. Of course, the 7.1 software will work on PC only.
The black Razer Kraken X for PC and the Kraken X for Console versions are now available from the official website for just $50.
