It's a keyboard aimed both at gamers and office workers

Razer revealed the new BlackWidow Lite, a new product that’s meant to bring the mechanical keyboard quality to the masses.

We all know that Razer makes high-quality products, but we also know that they are not usually all that cheap. Most of their keyboards, for example, go way past the $100 mark, which is usually too much.

Just imagine building your own PC, and you’ve just spent $500 on a new and relatively powerful graphics cards. Are you ready to pay another $200 on a keyboard? For a lot of people, the answer is going to be a resounding no.

The solution would be to either go for a cheaper keyboard, but Razer didn’t have one, at least not until now. With the latest BlackWidow Lite, Razer is hoping to convince consumers that they do have a more affordable alternative.

It’s supposed to be for everyone

People like Razer keyboards because of the keys, so for BlackWidow Lite to be successful it needs to have proper mechanical keys. The company uses different mechanical keys for their products, and it looks like the BlackWidow Lite is using the Orange Mechanical Switches.

The Orange switches are the most silent from Razer, and they provide “near-silent, tactile feedback.” They are still mechanical switches and you can hear them, but they won’t prompt anyone in the office to kill you.

The reason for using silent switches is because Razer is marketing this product at office work as well, and not just for gamers. Furthermore, the keyboard also comes with separate o-rings for extra sound dampening and fatigue control.

The braided cable is detachable, which is a nice touch, and it’s fully supported by Razer Synapse 3, although that shouldn’t be a surprise.

The MSRP price (recommended) is $89.99 and €99.99, respectively, and they are available now.

We reviewed a couple of BlackWidow versions, the Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 and the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate 2017, and we found them to be excellent. Let’s just hope that only the price dropped with BlackWidow Lite and not the standard as well.
