The Razer Kraken Ultimate headphones are aimed at competitive gamers and promise to offer pinpoint positional accuracy greater than 7.1 surround sound thanks to the THX Spatial Audio technology inside.
Also, the headset features custom-tuned 50mm drivers to deliver a more natural sound curve. In fact, Razer claims these headphones offer the richest, most immersive, and lifelike audio experience within the Kraken line.
And since competitive gamers need to communicate with their teammates, the Kraken Ultimate headset features a new Discord-certified, active noise-canceling microphone. Thanks to the noise-canceling technology, the Razer Kraken Ultimate’s mic detects and nullifies background noise as gamers speak, making their voices even clearer.
Design-wise, the Kraken Ultimate headphones are made of aluminum and steel with cooling gel-infused ear cushions for lightweight durability. Also, since they're both flexible and tough, its ultra-soft padded headband with bauxite aluminum frame is well-equipped to handle extensive gaming sessions.
The cooling-gel cushions help reduce heat build-up and also contain hidden eyewear channels for gamers sporting corrective or blue-light glasses. Furthermore, the Kraken Ultimate feature highly visible backlit earcups powered by Razer Chroma, supporting 16.8 million colors a range of lighting effects controlled from within Razer Synapse 3.
Along with the Kraken Ultimate, Razer unveiled the Kraken X USB, a cheaper version of the gaming headphones, which feature green earcup lighting and 7.1 virtual sound via its USB connection.
The Razer Kraken Ultimate is now available for purchase for $130 or €150, while the much cheaper Razer Kraken X USB headset costs just $60 or €70.
