14 DAY TRIAL // Razer announced today the launch of Razer Goliathus Chroma, a new mouse mat for gamers who feel like something is missing from their lives despite having a decked-out gaming rig already.
We often forget that the mousepad (or mat) is just as important as all the rest. Companies that build mice usually pride themselves on the fact that they can be used on basically any surface, but that doesn’t mean that they don't benefit from something that works great and looks even better.
Since Razer is not known for doing things half-measure, the company just launched a new type of mouse mat named Razer Goliathus Chroma. Despite the impressive name, you might think that it’s yet just another mouse mat. And you would be wrong.
Works best with other Razer products
Since Razer is also making keyboards and mice, it’s nice when you can round up the collection of peripherals with an equally interesting mouse mat.
“Razer Goliathus Chroma is a multi-color LED version of Razer's bestselling and affordable soft mouse mat that gamers can now customize with up to 16.8 million color options and an array of lighting effects,” says Razer.
That’s right, with the help of their Razer's Synapse 3 Beta software, users can sync the keyboard, mouse, and mouse mat. It might not serve any particular function, but it’s way more than just cool. It’s also optimized for all sensitivity settings and sensors, it comes with a rubbery base that’s entirely none-slippery, and it has a handy built-in cable catch.
The Razer Goliathus Chroma is available right now, but this is the default version, with a size of 10x14 inches. Another much bigger iteration called Razer Goliathus Extended is expected to arrive in Q2 2018, and it should be big enough to give users proper support to put both the mouse and keyboard on it, with a size of 12x36 inch.
