14 DAY TRIAL // Capcom has officially confirmed that Rashid is the next all-new character that will appear in Street Fighter V next year. The Middle-Eastern fighter was leaked over the weekend, and now the company brings actual gameplay details, not to mention some screenshots depicting his different moves.
Street Fighter V is the next iteration in Capcom's long-running fighting game series. Over the years, all sorts of different versions have arrived, most with classic characters in their roster as well as a few fresh faces to switch things up.
For Street Fighter V, Capcom has already confirmed the return of some iconic characters, like Ryu or Chun-Li, but also one fresh fighter, in the form of Necalli.
Rashid joins the roster and gets fresh details
Over the weekend, Capcom announced at the Games 15 event in Dubai that Street Fighter V would feature a Middle-Eastern character called Rashid.
Now, the Japanese company confirms on its Unity website just how Rashid will join the fighting experience and what moves he can perform in it.
As seen in the leaked video, Rashid is an easygoing character that blends a Middle Eastern wardrobe with all sorts of different gadgets. His fighting style mixes parkour with the power of the wind. As you can see in the trailer, he can unleash whirlwinds to damage foes and spin around to avoid oncoming attacks.
His V-Skills involves performing a flip that can be turned into a divekick, as well as a front roll that can be turned into an upward kick.
Rashid's V-Trigger allows him to throw out a slow-moving whirlwind that closes in on the opponent and causes damage if touched. Rashid can use the whirlwind to increase his attack speed.
Capcom promises the reveal of many other characters for Street Fighter V in the following weeks and months, ahead of the game's actual launch in early 2016 across PC and PS4 platforms. Check out some screenshots and the official version of the gameplay video below.
