A couple of paid DLCs are being planned by Bethesda

Rage 2 launches tomorrow, and it looks like Bethesda and the developers have some pretty interesting plans for this single-player game.

Single player games usually don’t get a lot of attention after the launch, with the exception of DLC and a few bits of extra content. From the looks of it, Rage 2 is not going to be just another single player game, and Bethesda is making sure that people have a reason to return.

The first Rage game was a full single-player experience, and it was the herald of new technologies. Unimpressive from a story point of view, it was still well received by the gaming community and remembered fondly or at least fondly enough o warrant a new iteration.

The world is different

Single player games are now rarely an offline experience, which is most likely the main contributor to Bethesda’s plans for Rage 2. Now, players expect to get something more than just a couple of DLC, and the publisher is well aware of the changing market landscape.

It would have been nice if the plans for the future of Rage were made available by the publisher, but it looks like GameStop beat them to the punch. The store published a Tweet today by GameStop revealed the full breadth of the content planned for the game.

In May, June, and July, can expect new wasteland challenges, world events, new weapon skins, and even new rides. Furthermore, it looks like new cheat codes are going to be released by the end of June, whatever those may be.

In August, the first major expansion is supposed to drop, and it’s called Rise of the Ghosts, followed in the Fall by a second expansion that doesn’t have a name just yet. It’s worth noting that all of the content planned for this game, except the DLC, is going to be free.
