AMD unveiled a Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 19.8.2 Beta, a new release that’s aimed for people wanting to play the recently released Man of Medan and Control.

When new games are released, they usually need some form of support from the GPU makers. It’s not like the games are not going to work without these updates, but they could receive some substantial performance boost. It often happens that a game introduces new technology, and that needs further support as well.

Even if the new driver from AMD is marked as Beta, they are generally safe to install. The only problem is that they are not tested extensively as regular releases. In any case, when the stable version will arrive, all of the improvements will carry from the Beta.

Improvements for Control and Man of Medan

A couple of essential releases are showing up these days, Control from Remedy Entertainment and Man of Medan from Supermassive Games. Both are boasting beautiful graphics, which means that they will take a toll on the system.

According to the changelog, the driver brings up to 10% performance improvement in Control running DirectX 11 on Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition version 19.8.2 vs. 19.8.1.RS-309, and support for Men of Medan. Also, Radeon RX 5700 series graphics get support for HDCP 2.3.

The driver is not without its faults, as players of Rocket League might experience an application hang on performing a task switch, and League of Legends players may experience slower than expected performance when performing a task switch. Please keep in mind that these are possible problems, and might not occur to everyone.

You can download Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.8.2 from the official website, and make sure you check if it’s compatible with your hardware.
