A satirical take on stock trading that plays in first-person

Power Struggle Games is the name of the studio behind the rather weird indie game The Invisible Hand. Opposite to what one might think, The Invisible Hand doesn't involve any violence, although it does paint a cruel picture of a major part of the financial world.

The Invisible Hand is a stock market trading simulator where players must learn to manipulate the market and make money for a nefarious company. According to developers, the game “combines a satirical take on stock trading with a thought-provoking narrative to create an illuminating tale of finance and personal responsibility.”

Players step into the shoes of a first-day employee working for the trading firm FERIOS, a brokerage where they turn a blind eye to breaking the rules as long as you deliver results. Basically, as long as you make a profit, anything goes. The thing is if you don't make enough money, there are plenty of others who want your position, so you'll probably be replaced fast if you fail.

Throughout the game, players will buy the stocks going up and sell before they go down. The more money players make, the bigger their commission. More importantly, players must find ways to influence the market to their advantage.

Although everyone has access to the regular news, players who want to get ahead of the spikes and crashes will need to find the inside line from more “exclusive” sources. Those who are successful will reap the rewards of their labors: fast cars, lavish parties, fancy apartments filled with beautiful furniture and artworks.

The Invisible Hand is coming to PC on May 7 and will cost just $12.99. Players can also download the free demo during the LudoNarraCon 2021 event, running from April 23 through April 26. Those interested can wishlist The Invisible Hand on Steam right now, but keep in mind that the game will be available on GOG and Humble Store too.
