Developed by Joy Manufacturing Co., the game make its debut on PC on May 26, but a Nintendo Switch release is in the cards too, just not this month.
In Ambition: A Minuet in Power, players take the role of a woman of fashion who lives in 18th century Paris. As she's trying to survive the political turmoil, our heroine will date a cast of well-shaped characters, engage in gossip that can alter the course of history, or lead her to the guillotine.
According to developers, the game is a revolutionary, romantic, visual novel where player's choices can change the course of history. The game starts on March 19th, 1789 during King Louis XVI's rule over France.
“Capture the hearts of Parisian nobles and use their influence to your advantage. Change the outcome of political events, snub your rivals, and enjoy the fruits of your labors with lavish and expensive gifts that increase your standing and credibility. Turn gossip into profit by selling the secrets you learn, but be careful! Your reputation and security are also at stake. The choices you make can yield great rewards and change the course of the story, but dire consequences could arise if you’re caught!”
Throughout the game, players will attend parties, mingle with the rich and powerful, learn their secrets, and use it to their advantage. But that doesn't mean that you can't actively search for your true love too. Still, our protagonist should also pay attention to the coming revolution and hope to be on the winning side to avoid a tragic end.
