Remedy says the complexity of the experience is to blame

The development team at Remedy Entertainment has ambitious plans for its upcoming Quantum Break, but it seems, at least, one of its initial goals for the video game is out of reach, as the television show associated with it cannot be featured on the game disc because of concerns over the amount of space it occupies.

Greg Louden, a designer working on the title, tells Game Informer that, "We have 40 different variations of the show in total where basically your choices get to make it evolve and change whether it’s from a junction choice or we have these things called 'Quantum Ripples' which essentially unlocked sort of deleted scenes from the show."

The various episodes are also longer or shorter based on the kinds of choices that players are making while they play through, and that means that it is easier to find a way to stream all the TV show content to players or to give them an option to download it at will.

Both options will be offered to those players who get Quantum Break on the Xbox One but for those who want to play it on a PC powered by Windows 10 will only be able to stream the video sequences.

The announcement will be a problem for those players who might see the quality of the TV elements of the coming title affected by the Internet connection that they use.

The video game will be offered on both platforms on April 5 of this year worldwide after a series of delays that allowed Remedy to make sure that the game and the TV show interact in new and unique ways.

The experience went gold on in late February and no problems are expected before launch.

Quantum Break focuses on time both when it comes to theme and mechanics

Jack Joyce is the main character of the new Remedy Entertainment title and gamers will quickly see him get access to time-related powers after an experiment at a fictional university goes wrong.

During the action sequences of Quantum Break, the protagonist can freeze time to see what enemies are doing, use his abilities to teleport next to an opponent and take him down or interact with the environment in order to get through levels.

Remedy says that it wants to make the title as varied as possible, and the third person view also allows gamers to use normal firearms to shoot enemies and make progress.

As Jack moves through the game, the perspective will shift to the antagonist, Paul Serene, during the episodes of the television show, allowing gamers to make important choices that influence the way the story progresses.

The cast of Quantum Break includes Shawn Ashmore, Amelia Rose Blaire, Aiden Gillen, Dominic Monaghan, Lance Reddick and more.

Microsoft says that the game will show players the kinds of unique experiences that can be created on the Xbox One and that it has decided to also offer it on Windows 10 PCs to make sure that it reaches the biggest possible audience.
