The development for Quantum Break has ended

Quantum Break is coming to Xbox One and PC in a little over two months, and the developers have revealed that they’ve reached gold status.

Some of the younger people might not be familiar with this term, since it’s coming from a time when games were distributed only on physical media. The developer would have a “gold master” which would be sent for duplication. Reaching gold status would mean that the production was over and that they could celebrate.

The idea of day-one patches didn’t exist, so the developers would also enjoy a short relief before the launch. This is why we see Sam Lake, the writer of Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Quantum Break, celebrating with a huge bottle of champagne.

Quantum Break is still an unknown

Remedy Entertainment is trying to do something different with Quantum Break, blending a live action series with the game, and with the players influencing the choices. All of this is done with high production value, so the end result should be either something spectacular or a flop.

Quantum Break is also coming to the PC, as a Windows Store exclusive, which was a really big surprise for the community. Microsoft wants to show that it is going in a different direction with Xbox and PC games. That’s why Quantum Break has the honor of breaking ground.

If players preorder Quantum Break right now for Xbox One, they will receive a free copy for the PC platform. This policy is going to be extended to other titles that are being planned, like Gears of War 4 or the new Forza game.

A small part of the Xbox One community doesn’t agree with the game being ported on the PC, but it seems to be just a small trend. The game is scheduled to be released on April 5, for Xbox One and PC.
