Chip maker Qualcomm has just announced the upcoming availability of two new mobile processors for mid-range devices with high-end features.

Both are meant to be affordable chipsets for high-performance smartphones and tablets, and come with top of the line specifications.

According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 617 chipset will be available by the end of 2015, while the Snapdragon 430 should be outed in late 2016.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 has been confirmed to share some traits with the Snapdragon 620 and 618 processors that are already available on the market, such as the X8 LTE functionality with support for Cat 7 download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 100 Mbps and 2x20MHz carrier aggregation.

Additionally, the Snapdragon 617 chipset packs dual-ISPs, which will allow it to support state of the art pictures and image quality reaching up to 21-megapixels.

The first to include Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology

Qualcomm also mentioned that, due to these common software compatibility issues between the CPUs, it will allow OEMs that are already using one of the previous chipsets faster productization.

When it comes to architecture, the Snapdragon 617 chipset comes with an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor, reaching up to 1.5GHz clock speed, as well as an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit.

Moving on to the Snapdragon 430, the new chipset that's expected to be outed later next year packs support for a high-end camera and faster gaming experiences.

It will feature the latest Adreno 505 graphics processing unit, dual-ISPs with support for 21-megapixels camera, X6 LTE with Cat 4 download link speeds of up to 150Mbps, with 2x10MHz carrier aggregation, and Cat 5 uplink speed of up to 75Mbps.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 430 chipset provides support for full HD (1080p) displays, as well as video capture and playback. It also comes with an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at up to 1.2GHz speed.

Last but not least, Qualcomm confirmed that these two processors will be the first to support the brand new Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
