14 DAY TRIAL // Paradox and Double Eleven have just announced new content for management game Prison Architect. The new expansion called Island Bound will be launched on PC and consoles on June 11 for a price that will be announced closer to release.
As expected, the expansion brings even more new gameplay features like additional buildings, security options, construction opportunities, and prison customization. Also, players will be able to create island compounds without needing an access road.
The main features of the upcoming expansion include the option to upgrade a prison’s logistics with a variety of ferry and helicopter transport options that deliver supplies and inmates directly to docking areas around the compound.
Another important gameplay mechanic implemented, Chain Link Up, lets players maximize the prison’s efficiency by linking docks, helipads, and roads to specific deliveries. There's even an option that allows you to toggle what services are available to each delivery point within your compound.
Next in line, Supermax Security makes it easier to search deliveries and prisoners as they enter the prison, or at key security checkpoints. Additional emergency services can be called when things get out of hand, including Air Firefighters, Elite Ops Teams, and Air Paramedics.
With the new expansion, Prison Architect players will be able to customize their island or connected island plot with over fifteen nautical tiles and objects. It's also possible to shape the land around the compound with moats, rivers, and lakes for security, or for style, without the need of access roads.
Last but not least, two premade maps – Alcatraz Prison and Alcatraz Island will be added to the game allowing players to manage the world’s most famous prison.
On a side note, Paradox announced Cleared for Transfer, a free expansion for Prison Architect, is now available for download on PC. Cleared for Transfer introduces security sectors to create a more complex management experience. Launching alongside Cleared for Transfer is The Bucket, another free content update that adds over twenty new items players can use to customize their prison.
