Video game developer Press Play and Microsoft are announcing that they are asking gamers to be the ones who decide what project the team will work on next from three initial prototypes they are now ready to detail.

On the official Xbox Wire, the two companies state, "Press Play is opening up the studio and the whole development process to gamers just like you. This new transparent development initiative is about giving the community a chance to provide feedback and help Press Play create the studio’s next game."

Press Play is known for its work on Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Kalimba.

Gamers can use the official site to express their opinion until September 1 of this year.

The three projects that they will be able to choose from are:

- Dwarka - a first-person cooperative title with a focus on action which takes place in a dark fantasy world, where a group will become a band of dwarf treasure hunters who explore a procedurally generated world and deal with its challenges;

- Karoo - multiplayer-driven construction game with complex physics set in an open world, giving players a chance to create vehicles and go on adventures;

- Knoxville - third-person multiplayer action survival experience focusing on dynamic relationships and spectator interactions.

Press Play will work with the community all through the development process

The studio says that once gamers have chosen the project that they like best, they will be constantly updated on its state.

The fans will also get access to early builds of any of the titles in order to be able to offer feedback about their mechanics and how they can be improved.

Press Play is also promising to offer interaction via Skype, even for project reviews, as well as video and blog updates.

The new title from the company will presumably only be launched on the Xbox One.

Microsoft has said that it wants to encourage indie game developers to choose its new platform since it was launched, and the Press Play fan involvement community is a great way to draw attention to a project.
