The development team at Turn 10 and publisher Microsoft are announcing that the Porsche Expansion for Forza Motorsport 6 is now live for all those who want to experience a range of new cars in the racing simulation on the Xbox One.

A new campaign centered on the classic auto manufacturer is introduced, with gamers able to see how the models created by the legendary team have evolved over the course of a 60 year period while being challenged to match the performance of the best drivers the company has employed.

Microsoft states, "Designed and curated to bring more than 20 legendary Porsche models and moments to life, including nine new to Xbox One, the Porsche Anthology lets players dive deep into an amazing lineup."

The special events for Forza Motorsport 6 will also feature commentary from Porsche drivers including Hurley Haywood, Derek Bell and Patrick Long and features cars starting at the 1957 356A Speedster up until the 2015 #19 Porsche Team 919 Hybrid.

The Virginia International Raceway is also introduced via the expansion, with dry, night and wet configurations for the player to master, with seven new ribbons also featured.

The Porsche expansion for Forza Motorsport 6 is offered only on the Xbox One and costs 19.99 dollars or Euro.

Neither the development team nor Microsoft is saying whether they are planning to introduce more cars and tracks to the racing sim during 2016.

Apex is now also live on the Windows 10 Store

Forza Motorsport 6: Apex was first revealed earlier in the day, and the product is now offered to gamers who are playing on PCs, allowing them to experience the unique mechanics of the series via curated experience that includes 12 events and 63 cars.

James May and Richard Hammond provide commentary as gamers understand more about racing and face some interesting challenges, which allow Turn 10 to also show off a new objective and scoring system.

The entire experience offered by Apex is free, and Microsoft says that it plans to add more races to a Spotlight series to expand the experience players get and maybe convince them to pick up a Xbox One and Forza Motorsport 6.

Featured cars include 2014 Audi #2 Audi Team Joest R18 e-tron quattro, 2017 Ford GT, 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SD-455, and more.

When it comes to tracks, Apex features six locations, Brands Hatch, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Rio de Janeiro, Sebring International Raceway, Top Gear and Yas Marina, and 20 different configurations, including the new night and rain options, recently introduced on the Xbox One.

Microsoft is determined to bring its biggest franchises to the PC and to continue to integrate its home console with the Windows 10 operating system and full Forza titles might soon be offered on the platform.

The franchise has delivered three titles already on the Xbox One and its accessible mechanics and wide variety of both cars and tracks have made it a hit with those who want a solid racing experience that does not veer too much towards simulation.
