Microsoft isn’t very keen on spilling the beans on its Windows 10 Mobile vision, so users, developers, and OEMs are all leaving the platform in search for a bigger userbase, which naturally exists on Android.

HP, on the other hand, is one of the companies that have somehow become loyal to Windows phones, so not only that the firm launched the Elite X3, which is one of the best Windows 10 Mobile devices to date, but it’s also planning a refreshed model probably for later this year.

And at the same time, HP rolls out ads to show the powerful combo between Windows 10 Mobile and the Elite X3, this time turning to police forces to highlight how easy it is for the public service to take advantage of this mix.

HP uses the video below to explain the advantages of using a device like the Elite X3 by public departments, emphasizing that officers can perform a wide array of tasks both at the desk and on the go. The company puts the spotlight on Continuum and the Lap Dock as well, but also on premium services that HP itself is offering to access desktop apps with cloud power.

Windows 10 Mobile’s future uncertain

Without a doubt, ads like this boost the customer appeal of Windows phones, but on the other hand, they’re not necessarily aimed at consumers, but more at enterprises and organizations.

The future of Windows phones is still uncertain, and not only that Microsoft doesn’t say a single thing about how it sees the mobile platform in the next decade but analysts also point to continued decline in the short term.

Most recently, analyst firm IDC said Windows phones could drop to 0.0 percent market share by 2021, estimating that Android and iOS would remain the only mobile operating systems dominating smartphones, with no competition from Windows 10 Mobile, BlackBerry OS, or other platforms whatsoever.
