Ricoh announced on Wednesday the next-generation of its PENTAX K-1 35mm full-frame DSLR camera, the Mark II, which promises to be the ideal digital SRL camera for low-light photography.

If you plan your summer vacation in Europe or you do low-light photography, and you're in the market for a new camera, take a look at Ricoh's PENTAX K-1 Mark II DSLR, because it's a low-light monster with a max ISO of 819,200, the new PRIME IV image processor, and a 36.4MP 35mm full-frame sensor.

PENTAX K-1 Mark II is a worthy upgrade to the original PENTAX K-1 launched almost two years ago and it's now Ricoh's flagship digital SLR camera with outstanding features like the second-generation of the Pixel Shift Resolution System II designed to output super-high-resolution composite images and enable handheld shooting.

"A new feature in the Pixel Shift Resolution System II is Dynamic Pixel Shift Resolution mode. This mode allows photographers to produce crisp, ultra-high pixel shift resolution images without the need of a tripod, extending the camera’s use to a wider variety of subjects and scenes," said Ricoh in their press release.

Available in April 2018 for $1,999.95 USD

Other key features of the PENTAX K-1 Mark II camera include a five-axis, 5-step Shake Reduction II system that's perfect for macro photography, an innovative anti-aliasing  filter simulator that minimizes inaccurate color rendition and moire, a tilting 3.2-inch LCD screen, and Full HD movie recording functionality.

It also comes with built-in GPS, high-grade DRII (Dust Removal II) mechanism, Bulb Timer function, HDR (High Dynamic Range) shooting mode, Crop mode, dual SD card slots, Wi-Fi connectivity, high-speed continuous shooting of up 17 RAW images or 70 JPEG images, and the SAFOX 12 AF sensor with 33 AF points.

The camera's optical viewfinder offers nearly 100% field of view and approximately 0.7x magnification for easy focusing, as well as several supportive shooting functions like operation-assist light function, key lock function, Smart Function, and Control panel customize function to make shooting more efficient. Also, the camera's shutter can resist up to 300,000 releases.

Ricoh says that you'll be able to purchase the PENTAX K-1 Mark II camera body starting April 2018 for $1,999.95 USD from authorized retail outlets throughout North America and its online store. You'll also be able to purchase a kit consisting of the PENTAX K-1 Mark II camera body and the HD PENTAX-D FA 28-105mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR zoom lens for $2,399.95 USD.
