Thanks to one of our readers, we were able to report last week on the release of the PCLinuxOS 64 2016.06. MATE Edition operating system. However, today we would like to introduce you to the PCLinuxOS 64 2016.06 Xfce Edition OS.

PCLinuxOS 64 2016.06 Xfce is a community edition built around the lightweight Xfce 4.12 desktop environment and powered by a kernel package from the long-term supported (LTS) Linux 4.4 series. Linux kernel 4.4.11 LTS is used in the PCLinuxOS 64 2016.06 Xfce Live ISO images at the time of launch.

Release highlights of the PCLinuxOS 64 2016.06 Xfce Community Edition include fully updated software repositories based on the upstream PCLinuxOS ones, as well as refreshed boot splash and shutdown screens, which use the same artwork as the official PCLinuxOS flavors.

Additionally, this version of the PCLinuxOS 64 Xfce operating system ships with new keyboard shortcuts for various operations users can do while using the distro on their personal computers. There are new keybindings for the reboot, suspend, and poweroff system functions as well.

Full and Mini ISOs are now available for download

The new keyboard shortcuts are, of course, customizable. So if you want to change them, you'll have to look for them under the "Keyboard" and "Window Manager" sections of the Settings Manager. Furthermore, PCLinuxOS 64 2016.06 Xfce Community Edition is available as Full and Mini Live ISO images.

As its name suggests, PCLinuxOS 64 2016.06 Xfce Community Edition can be used only on 64-bit computers, and you can download the ISOs right now via our website if you want a lightweight and fast operating system for your PC or laptop. Keep an eye on our Linux news section as we will announce more PCLinuxOS editions soon.
