We have good news is bad news for Pathfinder fans, as developer Owlcat Games has just confirmed the PC version of the game is on track for a September 2 release, but the console version will no longer be launched this year.

Although developers announced that Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this fall, during Microsoft’s Twitch Gaming Showcase ID@Xbox, a new trailer was premiered which shows that the console version will drop on March 1, 2022.

The good news is Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will be coming to Xbox Game Pass when it releases on March 1, 2022. The PC version of the game is unlikely to be added to Xbox Game Pass at launch, so if you’re anxious to play one of the most anticipated games of September, we’d suggest buying it on Steam or GOG.

The new trailer debuted today showcases crusade mode, along with mounted combat and tactical game mechanics, so if you’ve never played the first Pathfinder game and don’t know anything about the sequel, you can familiarize yourself with the series by watching the video.

To sum it up, crusade mode lets players select their general, change the size of their army and explore the map. This is a completely new feature that adds some strategic and tactical layers to the game. In crusade mode, players get to see how many movement points are left, overall combat morale, army strength, as well as enemy strengths.

Just to recap, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous releases on PC on September 2 and pre-orders are now open on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions that are slated for release on March 1, 2022 will be available in both digital and physical formats.
