Paranoid Android has taken to its Google+ account to let us all know that the team is back and a new ROM is available for fans. The team has announced many new features that fans can enjoy, along with the smartphones that can currently support the new Paranoid Android ROM.

A few years ago, Paranoid Android and CyanogenMod were the main Android ROMs available on the market. In 2012, the former released its first custom ROM and worked on multiple improvements until last year.

In July 2015, the team introduced custom Lollipop ROMs specifically designed for Nexus devices, but it hasn’t delivered anything since then. Paranoid Android’s absence has allowed CyanogenMod to flourish on the market and climb the ladder of custom firmware providers.

In fact, one of the reasons Paranoid Android disappeared is the partnership with OnePlus, the end of which led to the latter hiring key members from Paranoid Android to work on OxygenOS ROM, which now runs on OnePlus smartphones.

Now, it appears that Paranoid Android is back with new team members and fresh options. The post on Google+ reveals that the staff has implemented new features, such as custom Quick Settings tile reordering functionality, floating window support, and immersive mode.

Paranoid Android has also made major modifications to the interface and created CM Theme Engine. Users can also make peeking notifications open certain floating windows or get an application to float on the screen.

They have also made various improvements to CAF devices (OnePlus, OPPO and others), which provide custom kernels, buttons control, and even advanced gestures.

Paranoid Android 2016 supports a variety of popular Nexus devices (6P, 5X, 6, 5, 4, 7 2013, 9), as well as multiple OnePlus smartphones, like One, 2 and X. The team has also added that some Sony handsets are supported, and among them are the Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact, Z3 Tab Compact and more.
