Although Panasonic is almost inexistent on the Android market, the company continues to launch smartphones in India, one of the very few countries where customers can purchase phones made by this brand.

Today, the company announced a new business-focused smartphone called Panasonic Eluga Mark. According to the Japanese company, the Eluga Mark comes with Android for Work support, which makes it a great alternative for enterprise customers.

With Android for Work support, enterprise users will benefit from enhanced IT security and BYOD compatibility for private smart devices to operate on secure corporate networks.

Apart from that, the Eluga Mark is a decent mid-range smartphone that runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with Panasonic FitHome UI.

The smartphone employs the services of a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor coupled with an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

A business-oriented smartphone for enterprise customers

Panasonic Eluga Mark packs 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

At the back, the device features a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

Also, it sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. As expected, the smartphone offers dual-SIM and 4G LTE support.

The Eluga Mark is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery and offers multiple connectivity options such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM Radio and GPS with AGPS support. It also comes with fingerprint sensor positioned on the back side.

Potential customers will be pleased to know that Panasonic Eluga Mark comes in two color options, Royal Gold and Metallic Grey, and costs only Rs 11,990 ($180 / €170) outright.

“With the growing use of smartphones for a wider range of high-risk activities such as access to cloud data and private information, mobile security is a top priority for users.

“This control-sensitive device, which achieves complex tasks with the press of a finger or a swipe of the thumb, is personalized for the user and protects the smartphone investment,” said Pankaj Rana, Business Head - Mobility Division, Panasonic India.
