And what keeps you committed to the Apple ecosystem?

Even though Windows 10 continues to be the number one desktop operating system worldwide, Apple’s macOS is still considered a worthy alternative.

This is pretty much the same thing that happens in the case of Linux, though customers who want to invest in the Apple ecosystem need to spend a lot more money given the price of PCs running macOS.

However, Apple’s market share in the PC market has remained consistent throughout the years, and surveys conducted in the last few years proved that the Cupertino-based tech giant has some of the most loyal customers out there.

In other words, those who buy Apple products are very likely to stick with the brand for their next purchases, so in case you get a MacBook or an iPhone, there are big chances that your next upgrade will be a new-generation MacBook or iPhone too.

This makes perfect sense when it comes to brand loyalty, especially if companies invest heavily in their products, but as far as operating systems are concerned, things have changed substantially lately.

Opinions on the latest Windows 10 updates are mixed so far. While some believe that Microsoft is evolving towards a full enterprise focus with its desktop operating system, others think the company is becoming the new Apple and is investing exactly in the right parts of its software.

Of course, Microsoft becoming the new Apple isn’t something we hear for the first time, and it’s more of a subjective opinion. But there’s no doubt that Windows 10 changed substantially since the first version launched in July 2015, and Windows as a whole is a completely different animal from the operating systems that were launched under the leadership of Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer.

Microsoft is the new Apple.

If you ask Microsoft fanboys, comparing Windows 10 with macOS doesn’t make any sense because Windows continues to be a platform for everyone and for everything, and in most cases, the example people use here is gaming. That’s true, Windows 10 still has a major advantage in terms of gaming, as playing games on a PC remains mostly a thing that needs to be done on Microsoft’s desktop OS.

However, in the last couple of years, the number of games that landed on macOS increased significantly, and there’s no doubt this trend would continue. If macOS becomes a rival to Windows in the gaming world remains to be seen, but there’s no doubt this wouldn’t happen in the short term.

Apple customers, on the other hand, claim macOS remains the better choice in terms of security because malware can’t compromise their devices. And yet, trends have changed lately. While malware has become a more common threat aimed at Apple devices, Microsoft invested aggressively in Windows 10 security, so right now, Windows Defender is one of the top antivirus products out there.

Furthermore, the security feature arsenal on Windows keeps evolving, and every new feature update brings improvements that add a new security layer in the fight against malware and cybercriminals.

At the end of the day, choosing between Windows 10 and macOS seems to be just a matter of choice, though there’s no doubt that someone who is ready to invest in one of the two ecosystems considers every little detail that could help or impact the way they use a computer.

Apple users who have no plan of giving up on macOS, why don’t you even consider switching to Windows 10? Is there anything you’d like to see on Windows 10 or do you believe that Microsoft has no chance of building something as advanced as macOS?
