After announcing exciting new content for World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, Blizzard confirmed that dedicated Overwatch players will be in for some nice surprises for the remaining of the year.

First off, a new character will be added to Overwatch in the coming weeks, while a new map called Blizzard World will be available to all players starting in 2018.

Moira is the name of the fifth character Blizzard has decided to add to Overwatch since the game's release back in May 2016. Moira is a geneticist who posses the ability to provide allies with large amounts of healing, but she can also deal quite a lot of damage on her enemies.

As you might have already guessed, Moira is a support character, one who works for Talon and has a consistent history with Reaper's Blackwatch organization. You can find below some of Moira's abilities as described by Blizzard:

BIOTIC GRASP

Using her left hand, Moira expends biotic energy to heal allies in front of her. Her right hand fires a long-range beam weapon that saps enemies’ health, healing Moira and replenishing her biotic energy.

BIOTIC ORB

Moira launches a rebounding biotic sphere; she can choose between a regeneration effect that heals the allies it passes through, or a decay effect that deals damage to enemies.

FADE

Moira quickly teleports a short distance.

COALESCENCE

Moira channels a long-range beam that both heals allies and bypasses barriers to damage her enemies.

As far as the new map goes, Blizzard World is shaping up to be some sort of Disney World for Overwatch players. The new map looks like a theme park that includes all Blizzard's game franchises such as Diablo, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and Starcraft. It's a melange of cameos the will most likely appeal to all Blizzard fans.

According to Blizzard, the new map will be available for both attack and protect the payload game modes. First, Blizzard World will go live on the Overwatch PTR this year, while players will be able to experience everything it has to offer starting 2018.
