The developers have made quite a few changes

Blizzard has announced the next Overwatch Closed Beta has been set for February 9, and the studio has made some serious changes.

I played the previous closed Beta and I wasn't terribly impressed with the gameplay, although I said back then that most likely it just needed some balancing to improve it. From the looks of it, Blizzard has been doing just this, but they have also added a number of other features and a couple of new maps.

Overwatch is a new FPS multiplayer game from Blizzard as the company is still trying to make waves with an online game. They did try to launch a new MMO a few years back, with the Titan codename, but it never made it to the market. Some of the assets used in Titan made their way into Overwatch, but that's pretty much all that has survived.

Overwatch is coming in June 2016

The launch of Overwatch is scheduled for June 21, 2016, so it makes sense for Blizzard to have this Beta right now. They are probably going to move soon to open Betas, which will draw a much gibber crowd.

The changes made to the game include a new progression system, two new maps, including a new game mode, a number of hero balance updates, full A.I. matches, and lots of other improvements.

"Closed Beta testers will have a chance to check out all of these changes and more as soon as the game returns to active duty next week. Stay tuned for additional details about what's new in the Overwatch beta, as well as official patch notes," developers wrote.

It's worth pointing out that all the people who got into the previous Beta will also have access to the new one, but players can also apply for Beta access.

The first ones that will get access to Overwatch on February 9 are the Europeans and Americans, with the Asian region following on February 16.
