Chinese company Oppo has just announced it has released a new ColorOS update for the old Find 7 smartphone. The handset maker also confirmed that this will be the last ColorOS update for this particular smartphone.

Those who own the Find 7 can now download ColorOS 2.1.5i on their smartphones, as the last update provided by Oppo.

The good news is Oppo announced that it would fully focus on AOSP builds for the Find 7, so owners of the smartphone should be pleased that they will be provided with updates that are closer to stock version of Android.

The current AOSP 1.1 beta is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, but Oppo has already kicked off a private beta for a newer AOSP version that's based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Anyway, until a new AOSP build for Oppo Find 7 is available for download, you should upgrade to ColorOS 2.1.5i since it contains lots of meaningful improvements and new features.

Lots of bug fixes and a few new features

For example, the update brings Smart Lock support in Settings / Safety & privacy, as well as the ability to disable Google apps when editing homescreen.

Also, the SD card problem has been fixed (some SD cards were not detected after the Lollipop update). A camera issue with the color of RAW photos that were showing distorted red color when displayed in Photoshop.

Another bug in the weather widgets that was showing the wrong weather condition in homescreen has been addressed as well.

According to Oppo, the OTA (over the air) update should be released later today. Also, the Chinese company confirmed that this update would wipe user data, so make sure to back up your data before upgrading to ColorOS 2.1.5i.

Keep in mind though that if you have any data stored on the memory card within your phone, the update process won't delete them.
