Oppo introduced the R7 and R7 Plus in China last month and made them available for purchase right away, but only in China. The former went on pre-order in some European countries, but it won't hit shelves until July.

The R7 Plus is not yet available for pre-order anywhere and will probably not go on sale until the standard model doesn't make it to shelves next month.

The good news of customers in the United States is Oppo R7 is now available for pre-order in their country for $399. Also, for a limited time, Oppo also throws in a pair of iLike Speed Metal headphones for free to all those who pre-order the R7 in a certain timeframe.

It's also worth mentioning that customers who pre-order the Oppo R7 in the United States will also benefit from free shipping. Only the silver and golden version of Oppo R7 are now available for pre-order in the US.

Moving on to specs, the Oppo R7 ships with ColorOS 2.0, which is based on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. This is kind of disappointing for a $400 smartphone, but there's a high chance that the R7 will be upgraded to ColorOS 2.1 which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop platform.

No support for US LTE bands

When it comes to hardware, Oppo R7 is powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

The smartphone comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB), but keep in mind that the R7 uses one slot from the dual-SIM support.

Furthermore, Oppo R7 sports a 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the back, there's a 13-megapixel photo snapper with Schneider-Kreutznach optics, phase detection autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary no less impressive 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

Connectivity-wise, the Oppo R7 does not support any LTE bands available in the United States, but it comes with 3G connectivity, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, microUSB 3.0 and GPS with AGPS.
