14 DAY TRIAL // Chinese company Oppo has just introduced another mid-range Android smartphone, the Neo 7. The most intriguing aspect of the Oppo Neo 7 is the mirror-like finish, which points to a female audience.
As mentioned earlier, the Neo 7 is a mid-range smartphone, but with premium looks. According to Oppo, there will be a few versions of the device launched in the coming weeks, so depending on the region, you will be able to get one or another.
For example, there will be a US variant of Oppo Neo 7, as well as an international one, and another one aimed at the Indian market. They are likely to be priced differently, but Oppo has not shared any details on the matter for the moment.
First of all, the Neo 7 ships with Color OS 2.1, which is based on Android Lollipop operating system. The back side of the phone looks like a mirror, so it's extremely prone to smudges and fingerprints.
You will probably have to wipe it very often if you want to keep it clean. Eventually, many will give up on that as well though.
Snapdragon 410 CPU, qHD display, 1GB RAM
Hardware-wise, Oppo Neo 7 is equipped with a decent 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.
Obviously, users will be able to further expand storage up to 64GB via a microSD card slot. On the back, the Neo 7 has been confirmed to pack an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while on the front, there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports a disappointing qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution.
Oppo Neo 7 is powered by a 2,420mAh battery, it measures 142.7 x 71.7 x 7.55mm and weighs around 140g (battery included).
There's no word on when exactly the smartphone will be available for purchase, but we suspect customers will be able to order one very soon.
