Last week Oppo teased its new F-series family of smartphones that focuses on luxurious design, but did not offer details on any of the devices that will be launched.

Today, the Chinese company officially introduced the Oppo F1, the first smartphone in the F-series lineup. The handset will be initially available in Vietnam for $290 outright, GSMArena reports.

However, Oppo is likely to make the F1 available in other countries in the next couple of weeks, though the device might cost a little bit more.

The good news is the first 1,500 customers in Vietnam who pre-order the Oppo F1 until January 21 will receive an iLike Bluetooth headset for free.

Moving on to specs, it's worth mentioning Oppo F1 will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and Color 2.1 on top.

The smartphone features an aluminum unibody design and offers advanced camera features. Oppo F1 includes a 13-megapixel rear-facing snapper with f/2.2 lens, autofocus, LED flash and video recording.

There's also a secondary 8-megapixel camera in the front that features f/2.0 lens (1/4'' sensor), as well as some software abilities like Beautify 3.0, live color filters and the option to use the phone's display as a flash.

Speaking of which, Oppo F1 sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and feature Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating.

Hardware-wise, the F1 comes equipped with a 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

Also, it packs 16GB of internal memory expandable up to 64GB via microSD card slot. Oppo F1 is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery and offers both 4G LTE and dual-SIM support.

Other connectivity options confirmed by Oppo include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack and GPS with AGPS support.
