14 DAY TRIAL // SpellMaster: The Saga, the new game announced by developer SpellBook Creations and publisher 1C Entertainment, belongs to a pretentious genre: open-world RPG. We've been recently informed that the game will be launched on PC in Q1 2021, so if you're into this type of game, make sure to wishlist SpellMaster: The Saga on Steam.
From what we've seen in the trailer, we're not really convinced that SpellMaster: The Saga will be a hit among RPG fans, but let's say that it's promising enough. In SpellMaster: The Saga, players step into the shoes of a wizard who's trying to found his own Magic Academy that he believes will help to protect the world of Allyon from catastrophe.
Your character's magic skills seem to be strongly related to the Magic Academy that you'll be building. As you improve the Magic Academy, you'll gain access to more powerful spells, but you can also train new wizards and start managing new faculties.
The game requires a mix of RPG and management skills, although instead of managing a kingdom like in Pathfinder: Kingdom, you'll be running a wizards' academy like in Harry Potter but more serious.
The good part is that you get to explore unknown lands, ancient temples, caves, and tombs. All ancient artifacts that you find will help you build your power, as well as create new spells. SpellMaster: The Saga is not just about exploring, as you'll be using your spells to fight monsters and solve various mysteries throughout the world of Allyon.
What's interesting about the game aside from being able to erect and manage your own Magic Academy is that you'll be able to access different magic schools that can be combined to match your playstyle.
One important aspect worth mentioning is that SpellMaster: The Saga will be releasing in Early Access in Q1 2021, so the final version of the game might not be available until the end of the next year or maybe even later.
