A launch event has been confirmed for that date

There's much confusion on OnePlus' upcoming products, which were leaked online in the last couple of weeks. Apparently, the Chinese company plans to launch not one, but two Android smartphones in the coming months.

Although we thought the OnePlus X and OnePlus Mini are the same device, rumor has it that they are entirely different devices.

That being said, it looks like one of these rumors smartphones has just been confirmed by OnePlus. The Chinese company has just announced a launch event for October 29, which will take place in London, UK.

The event has been teased with an image that features a big “X,” which is why we believe OnePlus X will be the device to be unveiled later this month.

Obviously, we don't rule out the possibility of OnePlus X being something else other than a smartphone. Perhaps OnePlus plans to launch a power bank or a smartwatch on October 29. The good news is we will know more in the next couple of weeks.

A mid-range smartphone with high-end features

Speaking of OnePlus X, the smartphone is said to pack a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Also, the handset might be powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The smartphone will drain energy from a 2,450 mAh battery, which seems rather small for such a powerful device, so hopefully the information will prove to be inaccurate.

OnePlus X is likely to include NFC (Near Field Communication) connectivity, as well as a decent 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back along with a 5-megapixel selfie camera in the front.

The smartphone should pack 32GB of storage inside, but there's no mention of microSD card slot for memory expansion yet.

OnePlus fans should stay tuned for more details on the “X” event, since we expect additional info to leak online in the next few months.
