The smartphone can be purchased for €270 outright

Chinese company OnePlus announced its stylish mid-range smartphone, the OnePlus X back in October and made it available on the market one month later.

However, even though the smartphone has been officially released on the market, not everyone can purchase it since OnePlus is using an invite-only system for the OnePlus X sales.

Basically, you will need an invitation that will allow you to purchase the OnePlus X. You can obtain these invitations if you sign up for the company's reservation list.

Also, another way to grab an invite is to ask a friend who has purchased a OnePlus device already, or by participating in the company's contests or promotions with official partners.

Keep in mind, though, that even with an invite your OnePlus X smartphone will take some time to arrive. According to the Chinese OEM, after purchasing the OnePlus X with an invite, it may take up to 3 weeks before it's ready to ship.

It's also worth mentioning that you won't receive any invitations immediately after purchasing the OnePlus X, but you will receive them eventually since OnePlus manually rolls them out.

The ceramic edition might not be invite-free

The good news is you won't need any invitations to purchase the OnePlus X if you decide to get one on a Tuesday. The Chinese company has just confirmed that the OnePlus X will be invite-free every Tuesday.

It's unclear how long this promotion will last or whether or not this is something permanent that will eventually end up with OnePlus X being available with an invitation on any day of the week.

We also don't know if the ceramic edition of OnePlus X will be invite-free every Tuesday, as the company promised.

The OnePlus X is available for purchase via OnePlus's online store for €270 outright. However, the ceramic version of the smartphone is much more expensive, as you will have to come up with €370 upfront to get one.
