14 DAY TRIAL // OnePlus is currently working on its upcoming flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 5, and some details about the new device have already surfaced. Recently, a batch of pictures allegedly taken with the OnePlus 5 was retrieved by True-Tech.
The pictures that were supposedly snapped using OnePlus 5’s main camera show how the sensor performs in various light conditions and the level of detail that it will be able to capture in each image. The dual-camera setup will be one of the main selling points of the OnePlus 5, which is why these alleged camera samples are important.
OnePlus 5 has been rumored to come with a dual-camera setup on the back, while some say that the sensors will have a capacity of 16MP. One of the sensors should have the capacity to take wide angle photos and capture more depth information, as the report suggests.
However, take the information with a grain of salt. EXIF data does suggest that the images were taken with OnePlus A5000, which is the code name for OnePlus 5, but EXIF data can be faked. Still, the metadata suggests that the images weren’t edited, but we can’t exclude the possibility.
The latest Qualcomm platform and 8GB of RAM
Regarding other components inside the OnePlus 5, the smartphone is rumored to come with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and a 4,000mAh battery. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 platform is said to run on the new phone with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 540 graphics processing unit.
RAM capacity inside the smartphone is rumored to reach 8GB, while internal memory could be 64GB or 128GB. Most likely, OnePlus 5 will run OxygenOS on top of Android 7.1.1. Although OnePlus 5 is the successor of last year’s OnePlus 3, OnePlus will skip the “4” moniker, as it’s considered unlucky in some Asian countries. OnePlus 5 will most likely arrive in June or July this year, while more details will continue to surface until then.
