Although we already have plenty of flagships to choose from now that Samsung, LG, Xiaomi and a few other handset makers have revealed their new top-tier products, some of you might want to stay your purchase for a while.

HTC, Motorola, Huawei and OnePlus have yet to unveil their flagship smartphones and by the look of things it won't happen until the second quarter of the year.

The first to come on the market, HTC One M10, or whatever its name, will make their debut in April while the other three should arrive this summer.

In particular, the OnePlus 3 has just been confirmed for release by June. OnePlus' co-founder Carl Pei told CNET in an interview, and his company plans to launch its third flagship smartphone at the end of the second quarter.

According to Pei, the OnePlus 3 will feature a new design that he hopes will “captivate” customers as much as the company's first flagship launched a few years ago.

OnePlus will strengthen its presence in the US

Carl Pei admits that while the OnePlus 2 sold much better than the OnePlus, the latter was more captivating than the second generation.

This is the main reason that OnePlus 3's “new design” is supposed to mark a departure from its predecessor regarding looks.

OnePlus' co-founder also confirmed plans for the company to enter the US market. The OnePlus 3 will be sold through the company's official retail channels, so customers won't be able to get it from either carrier in the country.

Naturally, the smartphone will be sold unlocked, but there's no mention of the invitation system used by OnePlus to sell its products.

According to Pei, his company offers a “better buying process” than other retailers in the US, which is why it will use its website to sell the OnePlus 3.
